Job description

Provide Engineering support related to the space segment design, development and verification.

1. Scope of Technical Support

  • Support shall include space engineering in the following areas;
  • Space segment-related industrial reviews and procurement activities;
  • Support at segment and subsystem level;
  • Follow and review architecture definition for space segment;

Activities may include:

  • Requirements engineering and consolidation;
  • Functional and physical architecture definition;
  • Design trade-off analysis;
  • Interface definition;
  • Technical risk assessment;

2. Industrial Milestone Reviews

The Contractor shall support ESA in the review of industrial contract technical milestones, including but not limited to:

Space Segment RR (Requirements Review)

  • Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR);
  • Space Segment PDR;
  • Space Segment CDR;
  • Critical Design Reviews (CDR);
  • Qualification Reviews (QR);
  • In-Orbit Validation Review (IOVR);
  • Service Declaration (SD);

This support shall include:

  • Technical assessment of industrial deliverables;
  • Preparation of review comments;

3. Deliverables (non-exhaustive list)

The above activities shall result in:

  • Technical Notes;
  • Review Item Discrepancies (RIDS);
  • Trade-off Reports;
  • Contribution to DCNs for requirements change.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Aerospace or a relevant discipline;
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Space Segment Engineering
  • Background in systems engineering, ground systems, or space mission operations;
  • Knowledge of integration and verification processes for complex technical systems.
  • Experience with test procedures preparation and execution;
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills;
  • English proficiency.
