Job description

As part of the ESA team you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the CDF document templates according to the standard and requirements from ESA, the customer and CDF management, within the ad-hoc infrastructure environment (e.g. SharePoint at the time of writing);
  • Support the application of the relevant ECSS policy and processes applied by the ECSS Executive secretariat (e.g. ECSS Policy | European Cooperation for Space Standardization);
  • Support the application of the ESA standardisation handbook (ESSB-D-000) for ESA internal standardisation processes;
  • Support the application of the two ESA QMS procedures for standardisation (ESA-TECQ-PR-023169 ECSS processes), and ESA-TECQES-PR-024184 for ECSS training courses organisation if required;
  • Ensure daily administration, operation and admin liaison for the ECSS secretariat provided by ESA to ECSS (i.e. ECSS inbox, ECSS website, administrative correspondence (letters, e-mails), admin support to ECSS stakeholders and external bodies);
  • Support the ECSS Technical Authority (TA) annual workplan implementation at secretariat level, and the ECSS TA members quarterly meetings (from agenda preparation to the final MoM and actions/decisions follow-up in ESA and ECSS);
  • Provide support to the ECSS WG members, and the STAN engineers to configure, operate, maintain the new ECSS data centre;
  • Support the STAN engineers and the processes for the ECSS Digitalisation, prototyping and implementation/testing in 2025 and full operation in 2026;
  • Ensure Configuration control for all ECSS documents as per ECSS rules;
  • Support the Standardisation engineers in the team for tasks relevant to ECSS administration, documents production/review/update/interfaces to DOORs/Polaris;
  • Monitor and support the controlled access to the ECSS website for the identified users and new users, support end-users with the ECSS collaborative environment platform and the evolution.

Qualifications

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field;
  • At least 4 years experience with Concurrent Engineering methodology, tools, and applications
  • Knowledge of the space systems domains, including Mission Analysis
  • Knowledge of digitalisation, data-driven engineering methods, and MBSE tools.
  • Technical Authoring and Documentation Management, including preparation, editing, and quality control of technical reports, project documentation, and web-based content.
  • Production and Maintenance of Communication Material, including websites, multimedia content, graphics, and knowledge dissemination tools
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
