Mechanisms Engineer

Key Tasks and Responsibilities              

As part of Airbus, Defence and Space, Immenstaad, Germany, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Investigation and comparison of drive concepts;
  • Selection of suitable bearing concepts;
  • Rough design of structural and add-on parts in coordination with the design and calculation departments;
  • Support for the system engineer, Evaluation of customer requirements and derivation of requirements at subsystem level;
  • Creating technical specifications;
  • Ensuring the consistency of the specifications at all levels;
  • Creating a verification and validation logic for all requirements;
  • Creating and maintaining the verification control document;
  • Collaboration in the planning and execution of test campaigns for mechanisms (components), as creating test concepts;
  • Planning the verification campaigns and tests together with the specialist departments;
  • Execution and evaluation of tests, creation of documentation (test procedure, test report);
  • Evaluating the results;
  • Collaboration in the planning of the integration phases of engineering, qualification and flight models together with the design and AIT departments;
  • Organisation of the material flow for supplier/production parts and components
  • Creation of integration procedures;
  • Supervision and support for mechanical and electrical integration activities;
  • Updating assembly and test procedures together with the integration and development staff development personnel.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Comparable qualification at least Bachelor's degree programme, or Aerospace at least Bachelor's degree programme, or Mechanical engineering at least Bachelor's degree programme;
  • Good knowledge of technical mechanics and lightweight construction for space;
  • Good knowledge of mechanical and mechatronic systems (kinematics, bearings, actuation and control, sensors, actuators);
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering, in particular a good understanding of electrical drives and measurement/sensor technology;
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and CAD (CATIA V5 or V6);
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally;
  • Structured, efficient and independent working style;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • German at least business fluent, English at least business fluent, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
