HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 35 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join team in Germany.

Spacecraft Operations Engineer


Key Tasks and Responsibilities                  

As part of a dynamic team you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Validation, test and operation of the MCS (including the Mission Planning System) and of the Simulator;
  • Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP in the volumes indicated by the TR (initially platform Power/Thermal/TTC area, but also for other subsystems);
  • Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests;
  • Participation in System Validation Tests (SVT), Ground Segment Validation (GSV) and Training and Simulations programme;
  • Review of satellite documents;
  • Participation to pre-operational activities (LEOP and/or Commissioning operations) as required;
  • Collection of information / data regarding the performance of the mission and provision of inputs for mission reports;
  • Support the FCT in the configuration, set-up and operation of the Sentinels NDIU CORTEX and Lite and of the Sentinels MUST and GFTS servers;
  • Routine Mission plan generation support/checking.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • University degree in engineering or another relevant discipline;
  • Experience in working in an operational environment, in flight procedures life cycle, including validation and in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. SVTs and GSVs;
  • Some experience with Visual Basic and/or SQL;
  • Good experience with office automation tools, including MS-EXCEL and MS-ACCESS;
  • Familiarity with operational simulators (ideally SimSat) and with satellite control systems (ideally SCOS2000);
  • Very good command of English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
