IVQ Engineer - Ground Segment

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of the Galileo Element team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Review requirements or test specifications to derive test procedures related to the IT infrastructure of the Galileo element;
  • Implement and execute automated test scripts;
  • Development of test support scripts;
  • Maintain good code quality, apply coding standards, ensure requirements test coverage, and contribute to element documentation and code reviews;
  • From test results, support the correction of test procedure or set-up and configuration of some of IT equipment or cyber security measures;
  • Planning and reporting of activities, documentation of functionalities and work results.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT administration or equivalent;
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT administration and Linux (RedHat) administration in physical and virtualized environments;
  • Very good knowledge of Linux, preferably RHEL;
  • Experience with Test automation tools, preferably Robot Framework;
  • Good knowledge of network devices (setup and configuration) and network tools for one or more of switches, routers, firewalls, servers, workstations, SAN, printer, backup device (based on HP, Alcatel and others), and network services like IDM, VLANs Familiar with scripting languages like Bash (or Python);
  • Experience with git, Bitbucket or Gitlab;
  • Experience with requirements management, testing and verification tools;
  • Experience with agile development methods;
  • Familiarity with IS/IT security, certificate and smartcard management, patch management, anti-virus SW is a plus;
  • Practical experience with database systems as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MariaDB is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Web service and microservices is a plus;
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining server services such as Apache, DHCP, Bind/DNS is a plus;
  • Experience with Ansible is a plus;
  • Good intercultural communication and facilitation skills, able to interrelate, including the empathy to work in an international team;
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines; solution oriented while being open to embrace new technologies;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German is an advantage.
