HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 35 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Mission Control Systems Engineer to support our customer in Germany.

Mission Control Systems Engineer


Key Tasks and Responsibilities                       

As Mission Control Systems Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ground segment system engineering;
  • Requirements engineering (mainly related to the verification processes);
  • Design of mission control and operations ground segment elements;
  • Planning, preparation and execution of integration and verification activities;
  • Specifically, for ground segment phase C and D provide support for:
    • Procurement of mission control system and other operational components
    • Definition of the IVV approach, Test Specification and Test Harnesses;
    • Preparation and execution of the testing, integration and system acceptance;
    • Installation of ground segment elements and their integration into the overall Ground Segment system;
    • Verification and validation (IV&V) of the integrated Ground Segment;
    • Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings at sub-segment and Ground Segment level.

 Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • University degree in engineering or another relevant discipline;
  • Several years of experience in space systems engineering, including knowledge of ECSS standards and system life cycle processes;
  • Mission control and operations systems for large and complex missions, ideally based on SCOS, MICONYS or EGS-CC as well as CCSDS SLE-based interfaces;
  • Testing and verification of mission control and operations systems;
  • Requirements management and verification;
  • Ground segment documentation relating to system engineering with a focus on test and verification;
  • Knowledge of System Engineering principles and related tools;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
