HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany.

LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer


Key Tasks and Responsibilities             

As part of the LEO Spacecraft Operations Team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide consultancy to the satellite operations preparation and eventual transition into operations of Jason-CS/ Sentinel-6:
    • Provide inputs and / or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts.
    • Support satellite design reviews and operability discussions.
    • Support satellite control ground segment reviews and operability discussions
    • Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals
    • Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites.
    • Develop and test the database, procedures and operations guides
    • Prepare for and execute Satellite System Validation Tests for assigned subsystems and instruments
    • Develop training material for routine operations control personnel.
  • Support interactions with other LEO satellite operations preparation / operations activities in order to help ensure consistent and effective approaches to the satellite operations.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Several years of professional experience in at least two of the following areas:
    • Spacecraft monitor and control operations;
    • Spacecraft operations preparation engineering;
    • Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
