Key Tasks and Responsibilities                       

As Ground Segment System Monitoring Engineer, you support the development of MTG ground segment and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Analysis of the MTG requirements on the Multi-Mission Elements specifically to Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting and contribute to the definition of the design specification for the Multi-Mission Elements;
  • Management of programmes Requirements/requirement justification and generation of elements requirements;
  • Maintenance of GS Facilities to MME Monitoring ICDs;
  • Definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the Multi-Mission Elements specifically Monitoring, Analysis& Reporting and the other elements of the MTG ground segment;
  • Performing engineering budgets and analyse impacts of changes in the Multi-Mission Elements on the MTG ground segment architecture and interfaces;
  • Contribution to the generation of System Design Documents and Interface Control Documents;
  • Support to the definition of the AIV approach for the Multi-Mission Elements, including the generation of Test Plan and Test Procedures;
  • Participation to Programme project’s reviews (PDR, CDR, etc...);
  • Support Multi-Mission Elements Upgrade for other future programmes;
  • Promoting and ensuring the implementation of the maintainability requirements and standards defined by OPS for the future programmes.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Several years of experiences in:
    • Full development cycle of systems;
    • Maintenance of operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts;
    • System Engineering/AIT experience for the development of major upgrades/new ground systems in a 24/7 operational environment;
    • Ground Segment Monitoring and Control systems;
    • Analysis and Reporting;
    • System architectural design with the support of modelling and design tools;
    • Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools (e.g. DOORS);
  • Profound knowledge of Satellite Monitoring and Control, near-real-time data processing, archive systems, near-real time data dissemination;
  • Knowledge of Configuration Control processes/tools and ECSS standards are an advantage;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
