Key Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of the Antennae & Sub-millimeter Waves team at ESA-ESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities:
-Providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programs and general studies in the field of space antenna systems, sub-millimeter wave instruments and associated technologies throughout all project phases;
-Participating in project reviews and performing “in-house” design and trade-offs to support project-specific technology developments;
-Identifying critical development problems and assisting in their resolution;
-Antenna measurement laboratory activities as required;
-Defining, initiating and monitoring R&D activities covering both long and short-term needs;
-Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends and maintaining state-of-the-art expertise.
Skills & Experience
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
-Knowledge of antenna technologies (near and far-field antenna testing systems) and experience in antenna testing in the space domain;
-Industrial experience in antennas, architectures, and technologies as applied to space is a major asset;
-Good working knowledge on antenna systems and design approaches;
-Experience with handling of space hardware is considered an asset;
-Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
