Thermal Engineer

Our customer is a leading European system house, specialised in the development and implementation of high technology solutions for aerospace.
You will be working in a team of experienced thermal architects on the following activities:

Responsibilities:
 

Definition of the Thermal Control System (TCS) for space missions including:

  • Establishing of thermal models (GMM and TMM)
  • Defining critical mission environments for analysed instruments
  • Defining conducting trade-off studies to support thermal design decisions
  • Definition of thermal test environments

And

  • Writing of thermal technical reports
  • Generation of input for technical specifications
  • Presentation of the TCS design in internal and external meetings
  • Cooperation with other technical disciplines (structural, electrical, optical)

Skills and Experience:

You ideally should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in physics, aerospace engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic laws
  • Working knowledge of the main European thermal analysis tools (ESATAN-TMS)
  • Several years of experience in thermal design and analysis in aerospace industry
  • Working experience in thermal design of spaceborne optical instruments
  • Experience in the planning and conducting of thermal tests
  • Knowledge of Matlab, FeMap or HyperMesh is desirable
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; German would be an asset
